GT is the acronym meaning "Gokou Transforms". The series was an attempt to revitalize the show, but only worked for short period of time. The basic story line starts out with Gokou turning into a child due to a wish granted by Pilaf, Gokou's first rival and villain from Dragon Ball. Therefore, the Dragon Ball characters have to find a way to turn him back. The series recently ended and this will be the LAST Dragon Ball animate series.
